Perhaps recently I’d been stick to my A550 quite alot, and this made me even have the urge and need to get one. After looking at all the photos taken by pros and got impressed what this little thing capable of. I’d consider of getting one for myself. A Fixed Focal Lens - Sony DT 50mm F1.8
I dont expect you to know what’s so special bout it BUT after doing many research and read more than 20 reviews regarding this portrait lens. All I can say is, this is exactly what I want for close up, I mean portrait, aint macro. No doubt, it gonna looks handsome on my A550 for sure! =,= Despite it might looked a little plastic but who cares? As long as it takes awesome beautiful bokeh portrait that I want WITHOUT editing! Totally gonna replace my kit lens.
Sharp AF focusing and accurate is not to be forgotten! By the way, it’s alot cheaper than the F1.4 one which acts more or least the same with this exclude the build quality. Believe it or not, it weights 170g! It’s so compact and a affordable lens for beginners or photographers who want to have smooth portrait photos! ;)
By the way, it was designed exclusively for APS-C coverage. So it anyone thought of upgrading your body to FULL FRAME someday, you might as well go for F1.4 that costs more.
It is a shame that there is no lens hood supplied with the lens and absence of an external bayonet and there is still no sight of lens hood for this 49mm lens.
Good lens, well reviewed, excellent image quality, affordable price but no capital to get one! T.T
